Booking
BOOKING IN ADVANCE IS ESSENTIAL! Our main priority is the health and safety of our visitors, volunteers and staff. Due to the small nature of our venue you must pre-book a ticket in advance so we can manage the number of people onsite at any one time. Please phone 0115 915 6878 to book. Payment will be taken on the day.
A ticket allows 45 minutes for the activity and 45 minutes to explore the site. The ticket also allows unlimited time in our community garden and on the field and play park outside. We reserve the right to deny access to anyone arriving late for their slot.
*PLEASE NOTE* Due to the strict social distancing measures in place we can only allow a maximum of one adult per child to enter the site and sadly cannot allow access to the upper floors of the mill. The ground floor ONLY can be visited. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Take away refreshments will be available.
Donations
We encourage visitors on the day to please donate whatever they can. As a registered charity we depend upon donations to keep the mill open to the public. While entry to Green’s Windmill and Science Centre is, and always will be free for all, we have suffered a great shortfall of income due to our COVID-19 enforced closure. And due to reduced visitors allowed onsite future income will be hugely reduced too. Your generous donations will ensure the continued operation and conservation of the windmill and help us in our mission to inspire the next generation of mathematicians, scientists, artists and historians. Thank you.
COVID-19 Safety Measures
We’re delighted to welcome you back to Green’s Windmill. Please be aware a number of safety measures are in place to ensure you have a safe visit:
- All visitors must pre-book their tickets so the number of people onsite can be managed
- As part of your booking we’ll ask for your phone number for two reasons; 1) if we have to close for any reason we can let you know, and 2) For Track & Trace purposes in line with government guidance
- The upper floors of the mill are closed due to strict social distancing measures
- Face coverings must be worn at all times under government guidelines
- Self-guided one way routes and social distancing guidelines will be in place throughout the venue
- Hand sanitiser stations will be located throughout the venue
- Increased cleaning will take place throughout the venue
- Contactless payments are encouraged when possible
- Food and drink should not be consumed inside the buildings and please remember to take any rubbish away with you where possible.
