Update 08/04/2020 – Complete closure continues until further notice.
Update 23/3/2020 – Complete closure of Green’s Windmill and Science Centre and no
flour collections. Please read on for full details.
Owing to the recommendations from the government to reduce social contact, under which the advice was given to avoid visiting pubs, clubs & theatres, and following the lead of Nottingham City Council to close Wollaton Hall and Newstead Abbey, we have decided that Green’s Windmill and Science Centre will be closed for general visits until further notice.
While we wished to continue flour production behind closed doors it is with regret that there will be a complete closure of Green’s Windmill and Science Centre, even for flour collection, as of 23rd March for at least 14 days due to a member of staff coming into close contact with a person who has met NHS 111 criteria* for COVID-19.
This is purely a precautionary measure. While all staff members are currently showing no signs of any symptoms they are following NHS guidance by self-isolating for 14 days. During this time production will sadly cease.
Stay safe everyone and thanks for your understanding during these unusual and uncertain times.
