First step towards mill repairs

Mar 27, 2024

It’s our pleasure to announce £685,000 has been secured to carry out the repairs required to bring Green’s Windmill back up to full working order. The windmill sails were removed in late 2022 for safety reasons as time had taken its toll on the building.

Led by Nottingham City Council who own the building work has been going on behind the scenes applying for this grant to the MEND fund. We’re delighted to see the hard work has paid off. Please see the My Nottingham News article about the grant.

Everyone at Green’s Windmill Trust is delighted by this news and we look forward to announcing the programme of works in due course. Remember, despite the lack of sails, we remain open as usual. You can visit between Wed-Sun, 10am-4pm. Entry is free.

The site remains available for school visits, birthday parties etc whilst still running a full programme of public events.
