NTU Physics at the Mill for British Science Week
Date: 16th March 2024
Time: 11am – 3pm
Price: Free
Celebrate British Science Week with free family activities at Green’s Windmill and Science Centre on Saturday 16th March. Join Physics students from NTU to learn all about George Green and his wonderful work in maths and physics. Drop in from 11am-3pm to explore the science of energy transfer, learn about the nature of moving magnets and make your own pinwheel to bring home. You can visit the exhibitions in the museum and climb the windmill all for free too.
Guided Walk Around Historic Sneinton
Date: 23rd March 2024
Time: 2pm-4pm
Price: £5 – Booking is essential! Please book in advance to guarantee a place by phoning 0115 915 6878.
Age range: 16+
Join Champion of Nottingham, local hero and Chairman of Green’s Windmill Trust Tom Huggon for a guided walk around historic Sneinton.
This walk will take in St Stephen’s Church, Bendigo Statue, the birthplace of William Booth and the heart of the conservation area amongst others, and will provide the opportunity to learn some of the hidden gems and little known facts of this fascinating district.
The walk will leave from Green’s Windmill millyard at 2pm on Saturday 23rd March and will end in the same place at approximately 4pm.
Eggciting Easter Egg Hunt
Date: 29th-31st March 2024
Time: 10am-3pm
Price: £5 per child
Age: For ages 3+
Booking needed: Due to the small nature of our venue please book an arrival slot in advance so we can manage the number of people on site.
Our arrival slots are 10am-11am, 11am-12pm, 12pm-1pm, 1pm-2pm and 2pm-3pm. Payment can be made on the day.

Explore Green’s Windmill, the millyard, science centre and community garden for our hidden eggs and win a bumper prize pack for your efforts!
The Easter Egg Hunt is £5 per child. Proceeds go to the Green’s Windmill Trust, charity No. 1163116. Entry to the venue is free.
Easter Biscuit Baking
Date: 4th & 6th APR 2024
Time: 10.15am – 2.30pm
Price: £4 per child
Age: For ages 3+
Booking is essential. To book a place for this activity please call 0115 915 6878. We’re running six sessions at 10.15am, 11am, 11.45am, 1pm, 1.45pm & 2.30pm.
Bake your own Easter biscuits in this baking workshop, which Easter themed cookie cutters will you choose!? All ingredients supplied.
The sessions will start on time so please ensure you arrive in advance. We reserve the right to deny access to anyone arriving late for this workshop.

Children’s Bread Baking

National Mills Weekend
Date: 11th & 12th May 2024
Time: 10am – 4pm
Price: Free
Age range: 3+
National Mills Weekend is the annual festival of the UK’s milling heritage, so celebrate with us by visiting Nottingham’s 19th Century windmill. Climb the mill to see the breath-taking views (don’t forget the camera!) and learn how grain is turned into flour using 200 year old methods.
