Getting here

Green’s Windmill is in Sneinton, about 1¼ miles east of Nottingham City Centre.

On foot: It’s a fifteen minute walk from the city centre and the railway station.

By car: If you’re travelling by car the postcode for your sat nav is NG2 4QB. Free parking for two hours is available in the car park on Windmill Lane, but upon arrival you must register to park your vehicle using the RingGo app, or by phoning the number on the parking sign. Disabled parking is available in the mill yard, accessed via Belvoir Hill (please call in advance to pre-arrange).

By public transport: Bus number 43 from King Street in the city centre pass Windmill Lane. For bus timetables and further information on getting public transport to Green’s Mill visit Traveline East Midlands.

Information for disabled visitors

All of the centre and the ground floor of the windmill are accessible to visitors in wheelchairs, as are the toilets. Visitors with restricted mobility can avoid the short flight of steps from the car park to the windmill by calling in advance to arrange parking in the mill yard.

Opening times

Christmas closing:
We are closed on 23rd December to 1st January. We open again on Thursday 2nd January 2025.

Our usual opening times:
Wednesday to Sunday, 10am – 4pm each day.

No need to book.

Admission fees

Admission to the mill and museum is FREE.
