Green’s Windmill and Science Centre is an invaluable educational and heritage resource and offers two engaging and memorable curriculum based, facilitated sessions for school pupils aged between nursery and KS1.

Little Red Hen

Little Red Hen is busy baking and needs a helping hand.

Duration: 2 hours | 10am – 12noon, or 1pm – 3pm

Cost per session: £5 per child

Follow the Little Red Hen on her journey to make her own bread from seed. Learn more about grain and flour, and make some delicious bread of your own to take home. Join in with the Green’s Mill Challenge audio-visual experience. The children also explore the Science Centre and try out the different experiments. This session can be tailored to nursery, reception or KS1 age.

Baker’s Dozen

There’s nothing quite like the smell of baking bread…

Duration: 2 hours | 10am – 12noon, or 1pm – 3pm

Cost per session: £5 per child

In an action-packed hands-on, interactive session investigate cogs, grain, flour, weighing and measuring, and make your own delicious bread to take home. Learn more about where grain comes from and the function of the windmill through our video presentations. The children also explore the Science Centre and try out the different experiments. This session is aimed specifically at KS1 age.
